Job summary

Orion International is seeking a 2nd Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician in Canton, Ohio to support a global manufacturer of truck and trailer components. You’ll troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems and keep production lines running.

The role requires PLC troubleshooting, reading schematics, and building/repairing panels. Associates or technical training welcomed, with experience on Allen-Bradley controls a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining industrial or manufacturing equipment.
• Strong electrical knowledge: controls, motors, three-phase power, and panels.
• PLC troubleshooting experience; programming is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Ability to work independently on 2nd shift and communicate across shifts.
• An associate degree or technical training is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild production equipment.
• Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls issues.
• Build, install, and debug electrical panels and enclosures.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled and robotic equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain records.
• Recommend fixes to reduce downtime long-term.

I’m recruiting a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician for a long-established global manufacturer of heavy-duty truck and trailer components in Canton, Ohio. They supply nearly every major North American truck and trailer OEM and run fabrication, machining, and robotic production equipment that needs to stay up through the afternoon and evening shift.

What you’ll own

• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and rebuilds on production equipment


• Diagnosing hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls issues on the floor


• Building, installing, and debugging electrical panels and enclosures


• PLC-controlled and robotic equipment troubleshooting


• Preventive maintenance and the records that go with it


• Recommending fixes that cut downtime for good, not just for tonight

What they’re looking for

• Industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience


• Solid electrical background (controls, motors, three-phase, panels)


• PLC troubleshooting required, Allen-Bradley preferred; programming is a plus
