Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team in the San Marcos, CA area. The role involves hands-on maintenance across building systems including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related tasks. On-call coverage for emergencies is required.

You will report to the Maintenance Manager, follow Merakey policies, and participate in periodic trainings. Earn up to $25.50/hour in this position.

Qualifications

• Follow Merakey policies and procedures in all tasks.
• Report to the Maintenance Manager and participate in trainings.
• Be available for on-call emergency maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance across facilities including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Repair walls, ceilings, tiles, roofs, and parking lots; maintain parking areas.
• Operate power tools safely and complete daily work assignments.
• Conduct walkthrough inspections and report repairs promptly.
• Work independently or with others on assigned projects.

Position Details

• Become familiar with the policies and procedures that is associated with Merakey. Comply with these policies and procedures in carrying out all aspects of the job.


• Be directly responsible and report to the Maintenance Manager


• Comply with work schedule. Call the program to report absence or lateness of work.


• Complete daily work assignments made by program supervisor.


• Attend periodic staff meetings and mandatory in-service trainings.


• Uphold the missions, values and philosophy for Service of Merakey and uphold the general standard of professional conduct that relates to the position.


• Assume on-call coverage for emergency maintenance responsibilities.


• Able to work with Power tools and equipment safely and efficiently.


• Proficient performing desk and furniture repair


• Proficient performing surface preparation and paint


• Proficient performing wall and ceiling tile repair


• Proficient performing electrical repairs.


• Proficient performing roof repairs


• Proficient performing repairs to the HVAC system, ongoing maintenance


• Proficient performing parking lot repair and maintenance


• Proficient performing plumbing repair and maintenance


• Proficient performing lock repairs


• Proficient performing necessary renovations and upgrades to the physical plant.


• Proficient performing all types of home and building maintenance.


• Perform walkthrough inspections of sites, report and address repairs in a timely manner.


• Perform assigned projects while working with other or independently.

Earn up to $25.50/hour in this position.
