Suncoast Behavioral Health Center in Bradenton, FL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance and ensure the facility is clean, safe, and functioning at optimum efficiency.

This intermediate level role within the Plant Operation Department requires basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, HVAC and safety checks, with adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a behavioral health or hospital setting.
• Must have valid, current Florida Driver License.
• Experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC and safety systems.

Responsibilities

• General facility maintenance including basic carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and minor plumbing.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and HVAC components under supervision.
• Prioritize and close work orders with timely documentation.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
• Adhere to PPE use, lockout/tagout and safe ladder/hand-tool practices.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff and communicate with clinical teams.

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible to perform routine maintenance duties for Suncoast Behavioral Health Center. The Maintenance Technician will ensure that the facility and property are clean, safe, secure, and functioning at optimum efficiency. This is an intermediate level role within the Plant Operation Department. The maintenance technician is also responsible for completing their assigned safety checks and adheres to all safety regulations and practices.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• General facility maintenance including basic carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring and minor plumbing.
• Skill in troubleshooting electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and HVAC components under supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and close work orders with timely documentation.
• Ability to perform inspections and preventive maintenance per regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of safety practices, including PPE use, lockout/tagout and safe ladder/hand-tool operations.
• Ability to navigate behavioral health environments while ensuring patient and staff safety.
• Clear communication with clinical staff, patients and vendors using service excellence principles.
