Job summary

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center is seeking a Mental Health Technician to deliver direct patient care for adolescents aged 11–17 in a residential setting. You will supervise patients during treatment, recreation, and education, and monitor changes in social behavior and clinical status while ensuring safety with least restrictive interventions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety in the facility and use least restrictive interventions per policy to avoid seclusion and restraint whenever possible.

The dedicated professionals at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home.

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) performs direct patient care duties in a residential behavioral health setting. The Mental Health Technician is responsible for supervising the patient in treatment, recreation, educational settings, and other activities of daily living to assess changes in their social behaviors and clinical status. MHT’s have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient’s safety in the facility. MHT's are responsible for understanding and using the least restrictive interventions per facility policy and successfully avoid seclusion and restraint whenever possible.
