Job summary

Universal Health Services seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform skilled work maintaining Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital's buildings, systems and plant equipment. You will conduct proactive maintenance, testing and documentation while coordinating with staff across departments.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in HVAC, repair, maintenance, plumbing, electrical and construction, with at least 2 years in facility maintenance; a high school diploma is required, 21+ and able to pass background

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree from a college or technical/trade school preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in HVAC, automotive repair, maintenance, plumbing, electrical & construction preferred.
• 2 years of experience in facility maintenance preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Plant Operations Director, the Maintenance Technician performs skilled work relating to the maintenance of all facility buildings, properties, systems, and plant equipment.

Performs proactive maintenance, safety, and operational testing and documentation of all designated systems and equipment. Interacts with a wide variety of personnel in all departments of the company.

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital (a UHS facility)

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and residential treatment services for youth ages 5-17, as well as inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for adults ages 18+. Our treatment programs provide a structured and supportive treatment environment that promotes self-acceptance and helps stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness. Our multidisciplinary treatment teams consist of psychiatrists, licensed therapists and highly specialized nurses who collaborate to develop and implement effective and compassionate treatment plans for our patients. Cedar Ridge is a behavioral health facility that encompasses a 206-bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center on a beautifully wooded campus with a stocked pond, school, gym, outdoor courtyard and playground.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associates degree from a college or technical/trade school preferred
• One (1) to Three (3) Years of experience in the Fundamentals of HVAC, Automotive Repair, Maintenance, Plumbing, Electrical & Construction preferred
• Two (2) Years of experience in facility maintenance preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age, required
• Successfully complete a drug test
• Successfully pass national background check
• Valid Drivers License required
• Must be able to work 8 hours day, standing and walking for prolonged periods
• May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours
• Maintain a clean environment for patients at all times
• Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior
• Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste
