Job summary

ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. in Berea, Ohio, seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to execute production strategies and support maintenance activities across the plant.

The role partners with leadership to set priorities, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure safe, compliant operation of hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, documentation, and 5S housekeeping while meeting OSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • Two years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, booms and scissor lifts.
  • Familiarity with electrical circuits, PLC and CNC control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Start, stop, and operate production equipment for troubleshooting.
  • Identify equipment deficiencies and perform emergency repairs.
  • Implement preventative/predictive maintenance per schedule.
  • Install or relocate equipment and ensure safe operation.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain 5S housekeeping.

Job description

Company Name: ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. Job Family: Manufacturing & Operations

Under the guidance of the department leadership, this role is responsible for executing production strategies and tactical plans at the Astemo Berea Plant. The position collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities and objectives and ensures their effective implementation. This role supports production, while acting as a strategic partner to other departments across the organization. This role exercises independent judgment regularly while operating within established guidelines.

Essential Functions
  • Start, stop, and operate production equipment (including: hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and programmable logic controllers, etc.) for the purposes of troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Accurately identify equipment deficiencies.
  • Perform emergency equipment repairs as required.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to equipment per schedule and instruction.
  • Perform equipment modifications, rebuilds, and upgrades as needed.
  • Installation or relocation of new and existing equipment.
  • Conducts all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Understands and complies to all OSHA.
  • Completes documentation as required by the organization.
  • Housekeeping and 5S responsibilities as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
Knowledge, skills & abilities
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications (including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and current ERP system).
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Basic knowledge and skills in welding, fabrication, and CNC machining equipment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with: Electrical circuits, sensors, PLC, CNC and other control systems.
  • Electrical meters, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting.
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, components and control systems.
  • Industrial equipment safety requirements and systems.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, booms and scissor lifts.
  • Prefer individuals with a degree/certification in industrial maintenance or other related field.
  • Prefer individual with a minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience.
Working Conditions & Requirements
  • Required to work 40hrs per week, as well as any required overtime.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Required to lift/move up to 40lbs.
  • Required to use mechanical assistance devices such as ladders, lifts, etc.
  • Up to 10% domestic and international may be required as needed.
  • Required to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to office and laboratory areas.
