Job Description:
We seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. The Maintenance Technician role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading equipment and systems to ensure optimal factory operations. The technician will perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and light HVAC work, with a focus on minimizing downtime and enhancing equipment performance.
After some significant upgrades/project work, the maintenance section of this role will reduce to part time. Full time work will continue by cross training in key equipment operator roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and system upgrades on factory equipment.
- Troubleshoot and install 110v and 220v electrical systems.
- Conduct light HVAC maintenance, such as filter changes and cleaning drains.
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including PVC and copper piping.
- Repair and upgrade mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, chain drives, and PLC-controlled valves.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed (useful but not required).
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and manage inventory for repair parts and tools.
- Assist with small projects, including equipment upgrades and installations.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and comply with OSHA.
- Travel locally during work hours to procure parts and supplies as necessary.
Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, welding, OSHA awareness) are helpful but not mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in a maintenance role within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, crouch, crawl, and work in small spaces.
- Schedule: Standard shift is 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to address urgent repair needs.
Other Skills:
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems is helpful but not required.
- Welding experience is useful and adds value to the role.
- Forklift driving experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
