Customer Service Maintenance Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Customer Service Maintenance Technician responsible for safely installing, maintaining, inspecting, and removing all types of liquid and/or gaseous cryogenic supply systems. The technician ensures that the cryogenic supply system operates reliably and meets customer requirements. Routine tasks include pipefitting, rotating equipment preventive maintenance, electrical analysis on system components, oxygen cleaning of new components, and troubleshooting refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate professionally with sales representatives, customer personnel, and internal maintenance planning groups.
• Read prints and schematics, understand materials of construction and general system layout.
• Understand various system components such as regulators, valves, solenoids, and pressure relief devices.
• Plan daily workload effectively as an organized self-starter.
• Proficient in using software and devices including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, internet searches, smartphones, tablets, and handheld data entry devices.

Working Conditions:

This position reports remotely to the Customer Service Maintenance Superintendent. Candidates must reside near the coverage territory. The role involves an 8-hour workday with overtime as needed, being on call 24/7 except during holidays and paid time off. A valid Driver’s License is required, along with the ability to operate a company vehicle safely in all weather conditions.

Training is provided at our East Chicago, IN National Training Center, typically lasting a week. Training covers topics such as Bulk Atmospheric Gas Systems, Hydrogen, CO2, high-pressure pumping, electrical systems, pipe joining, technical cleaning, and certification in NITC/medical installation.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Entry-level, with 2+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical system installation, maintenance, or repair
• Technologically savvy with software and devices mentioned above
• Refrigeration/HVAC or cryogenic experience is preferred but not required
