This mid-level role focuses on performing preventive maintenance, rapidly diagnosing and restoring unplanned downtime, and accurately working within the plant’s Preventive Maintenance (PM) asset management system to maximize equipment uptime and production efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair textile yarn spinning machines (e.g., open end, vortex) and circular fabric knitting machines.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on production equipment.
  • Diagnose root causes of machine failures and implement effective corrective actions to restore production quickly.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks according to the plant’s PM program and manufacturer recommendations.

  • Identify potential issues during PM work and proactively address them before they cause downtime.

  • Support continuous improvement of the PM program by providing feedback on task effectiveness and equipment condition.
Additional Duties
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and mill safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and proper care of tools and equipment.
  • Assist with installation, modification, or upgrade of machinery as required.
  • Participate in root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime.
Basic Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or PM asset system.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills with production and maintenance personnel.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required to support production.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required (with proper PPE, training and certifications as applicable).

  • Previous experience specifically on yarn spinning frames and circular/flat knitting machines.
