Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, is hiring a maintenance technician to support our steel and construction reinforcement operations in Alabama. You’ll develop and implement maintenance procedures, ensure all equipment is in good condition, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues across facilities.

Ideal candidates read technical manuals, work independently, and communicate in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or Tech Certificate.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement maintenance procedures
• Ensure that all equipment and facilities are in good working condition
• Identify / troubleshoot electrical faults in equipment and building as well as mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems.
• Repair plant equipment (steel forms, machinery, and building)
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Proficiency with diagnostic, testing, welding, and hand tools
• Strategic planner who can prioritize maintenance activities effectively

What You’ll Need

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Must work well independently with little direction
• Quick thinker / strategic planner / flexible / problem solver
• Welding and torch-cutting experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Your Education

• High School Diploma GED or Tech Certificate required.
