Job summary

Ventura Foods in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Production Machine Technician to maintain equipment per HACCP and FSMA, train operators, and reduce downtime through preventive maintenance and effective troubleshooting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1–3 years in a food manufacturing setting; it is onsite, hourly, with a base salary range and benefits described in the posting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years in a food manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Working knowledge of electrical concepts and tools used in maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and emergency maintenance on packaging/processing equipment to maximize uptime.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and work orders to extend asset life.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical/electrical issues and rebuild pumps, mills and gearboxes.
• Utilize plant systems to generate work requests, track hours, and initiate purchases.
• Assist operators and train them with up-to-date procedures and safety practices.
• Adhere to HACCP, GMP, FSMA and SQF requirements and maintain food safety policies.
