Piedmont Candy Company in Lexington, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our manufacturing team. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and packaging equipment in a food manufacturing setting, performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

We value safety, GMP compliance, and teamwork. Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years of maintenance experience, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work independently, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and packaging equipment in a food manufacturing environment.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and keep equipment running smoothly.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, pneumatics, and related systems.
• Respond to production calls and breakdowns in a timely, professional manner.
• Assist with equipment installations, improvements, and changeovers.
• Work closely with production, quality, and leadership teams to support daily operations.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, and hot work practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance work performed.
• Bonus: Experience with PLCs or automated equipment is a plus, but not required.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician II to join our growing manufacturing team and help support reliable, safe, and efficient operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing who wants steady work, opportunities to grow their skills, and a company that takes safety and food quality seriously.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

• Familiarity with food manufacturing, GMPs, or sanitation standards is preferred
• Willingness to work flexible hours or occasional overtime as needed

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment or basic electrical troubleshooting
• Welding or light fabrication experience
• Experience using a CMMS system
• Background in food or confectionery manufacturing
