Job description

Maintenance Technician III (1st Shift)

Maintenance Technician III is an electro‑mechanical position supporting manufacturing operations, adjusting and repairing equipment, tracking usage, and ordering replacement parts.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex electro‑mechanical problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Perform detailed setup on equipment including recipe changes and control adjustments
  • Repair and maintain mechanical machine components
  • Apply advanced knowledge of electrical principles such as voltage, current and resistance
  • Diagnose and repair electrical control circuits, field devices, sensors, photo‑eyes, etc.
  • Maintain electrical safety and motor control circuits and programmable drives
  • Troubleshoot inputs and outputs on PLC and repair issues
  • Complete projects adding electrical circuits and controls, new equipment, and relocating machines
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems, including cylinders and other components
  • Perform simple to complex mechanical preventive maintenance tasks following instructions
  • Enter all work completed in computer‑based maintenance program
  • Monitor and report spare parts usage and complete parts order forms
  • Adjust equipment based on statistical process control data and work with QA
  • Provide training to Level I and II technicians in more complex tasks and skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lock‑Out, Tag‑Out procedures
  • Strict adherence to safety policies and procedures and commitment to quality
  • Availability for regular standby assignments, off‑hours, and emergency overtime
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Willingness to attend training sessions, including out‑of‑state locations
  • Ability to assist in training Level I and II technicians
  • Intermediate knowledge of fabrication (e.g., welding, basic machining)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and work ethic
  • Ability to read printed materials, blueprints, schematics, and computer graphics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team, establishing cooperative relationships with employees, vendors, contractors, and suppliers
  • Attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment
Physical Demands
  • Strength, stamina, and mobility for heavy physical work, use of hand and power tools, operation of motor vehicles and light construction equipment, forklift, platform lifts, etc.
  • Lift and move materials and equipment up to 90 pounds (and heavier weights with proper equipment)
  • Walk, use fingers and hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, speak and hear, stand, sit for long periods, and occasionally climb or balance
  • Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus
  • Exposure to variable temperatures, chemicals, rotating shifts
Work Environment

Mainly a manufacturing facility with moving mechanical parts, forklifts, heavy pallets, moderate to loud noise, and airborne dust, powders, and fumes. Personal protective equipment such as clothing, gloves, goggles, safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, and cut‑resistant aprons are required.
