Job summary

Southern Fabricators in Polkton, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing by performing routine and emergency maintenance on CNC machines, presses, and facility systems. You will follow safety policies and collaborate with the Maintenance Lead for hands-on guidance.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in industrial maintenance, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. ISO 9001 familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in metal manufacturing.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with CNC machinery and preventive maintenance programs.
• Willingness to follow instructions, ask questions, and learn from senior staff.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 principles and documentation practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns across CNC machines, presses, and facility systems.
• Follow and enforce all company safety policies, including PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Work closely with the Maintenance Lead Man for hands-on training and guidance.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications to improve production efficiency.
• Identify and report abnormal equipment conditions discovered during PMs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work completed and parts usage.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with 5S and ISO 9001 standards.
