Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across the distribution center. The role requires adherence to safety standards including OSHA, LOTO, and working with conveyors, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Shift is Tuesday–Friday 5:30p–3:30a with a base rate of $29.55/hr plus $1/hr shift differential. Candidates should have an associate degree or 2-year technical certificate, 3–5 years of experience, and the ability to read drawings

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Hands-on skills with welding, cutting, and burning.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and PLC controls.
• Familiarity with DC-specific software packages and asset management tools.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Strong safety awareness and LOTO experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment for the facility and conveyance systems.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and safety practices (LOTO).
• Follow PM standards and document work performed in asset management system.
• Provide expertise in PLCs, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related equipment.
• Report spare parts inventory and daily usage to maintenance leadership.
• Assist in training junior technicians and work with external vendors.
• Support DC operational needs as required.

OVERVIEW

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems.
• Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system.
• Provide expertise in PLC’s, conveyors, 3‑phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians.
• Work closely with outside vendors to complete projects within the DCs safely and timely.
• Support the DC’s operational needs as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s Degree or 2‑year vocational technical certificate or degree in mechanical or electrical application.
• 3‑5 years of experience.
• Skills in welding, burning, cutting.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls.
• Familiarity with DC‑specific specialized software packages (e.g., Crown PM, Gage).
• Ability to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics.
• Good safety awareness.
• Physical capability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO.
