Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Distribution Center in New York. The role involves maintaining and repairing conveyors, PLCs, hydraulics, and other facility equipment, with emphasis on safety and PM compliance.

The technician will train junior staff and collaborate with vendors to complete projects. The position requires 3–5 years of experience, an associate degree or technical certificate, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or 2-year technical certificate in mechanical or electrical field.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with welding, burning and cutting processes.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and PLC controls.
  • Familiarity with DC-specific software and equipment.
  • Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics.
  • Commitment to safety and LOTO procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Experience with LOTO and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to OSHA safety requirements and LOTO standards.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in the facility.
  • Follow PM standards and document work in asset management system.
  • Report spare parts inventory and usage to leadership.
  • Train junior technicians to improve performance.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to complete DC projects safely.
  • Assume additional duties to support DC operations.

OVERVIEW

Shift: 2B: Tuesday - Friday 5:30p - 3:30a

Rate: $29.55/hr. + $1/hr. shift dif

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
  • Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
  • Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
  • Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
  • Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and it’s operational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's Degree - 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application.
  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Welding, burning, cutting.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls.
  • Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment.
  • Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics.
  • Good safety awareness.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Experience with LOTO.

Targeted Pay Range: $29.55 - $42.90. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. DICK'S Sporting Goods complies with all state paid leave requirements.
