Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our distribution center. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across conveyors, PLCs, hydraulics and electrical systems to ensure uptime and safety.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, an associate degree or 2‑year technical certificate, and ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics. Shift: Tue–Fri 5:30p–3:30a; rate: $29.55/hr plus $1 shift diff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 2-year technical certificate in mechanical or electrical applications.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or DC setting.
• Experience with welding, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLCs.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with asset management and safety protocols (LOTO).

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility and conveyance systems.
• Follow PM standards and document work in the asset system.
• Provide PLC, conveyor, 3‑phase electric, hydraulics, and pneumatics expertise.
• Report spare parts usage and inventory to leadership.
• Train junior technicians and coordinate with outside vendors.
• Support DC operations and safety compliance.

OVERVIEW

Shift: Tuesday - Friday 5:30p - 3:30a
Rate: $29.55/hr. + $1/hr. shift differential

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems.
• Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system.
• Provide expertise in PLC’s, conveyors, 3‑phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians.
• Work closely with outside vendors to complete projects within the DCs safely and timely.
• Support the DC’s operational needs as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s Degree or 2‑year vocational technical certificate or degree in mechanical or electrical application.
• 3‑5 years of experience.
• Skills in welding, burning, cutting.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls.
• Familiarity with DC‑specific specialized software packages (e.g., Crown PM, Gage).
• Ability to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics.
• Good safety awareness.
• Physical capability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO.
