Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Tech I to handle repairs, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment. You will work Monday–Friday with occasional night and weekend overtime, and receive on-the-job training to grow your skills within a 1.5-billion-dollar garment services company.

You will use hand and precision tools, read blueprints, perform safety checks, and operate a CMMS while supporting boiler and wastewater systems and ensuring safe, efficient operation across

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment.
• Minimum 6 months of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs as required.
• Record utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct daily/weekly location/system safety checks and address issues.
• Inspect, clean, and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
