Job summary

HES Facilities Management is seeking a skilled maintenance technician in Joliet to perform repair work on HVAC, plumbing and electrical equipment, and to notify the Director of major machinery failures. You will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain building systems, read blueprints, and keep maintenance records.

Core duties include performing routine preventive maintenance, assisting with grounds and basic carpentry, and supervising maintenance staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing and electrical equipment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and maintenance manuals.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and on-call as needed.
• Strong problem solving and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical equipment and notify supervisor of major failures.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and controls.
• Inspect and maintain drives, motors, belts and lubrication points.
• Perform minor carpentry and painting as needed.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff and manage work orders.
