Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee the upkeep and repair of production equipment, tools, and machinery under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or Head Mechanic.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose electrical and mechanical problems, and repair or replace faulty components. A minimum of 5 years in maintenance and a high school diploma are required; safety boots are provided and reimbursed after 30 days.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent.
• Technical or vocational school certification preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety procedures, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and electrical principles.
• Manufacturing/industrial environment experience preferred.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 65lbs, standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing, indoor/outdoor work, and PPE use.
• Must wear PPE (ear protection, hard hat, safety boots, protective glasses).
• Provide own safety boots upon hire and eligibility for Safety Boots/Shoe Reimbursement after 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Replace, install, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair production equipment and electrical components.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrections.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines running.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluids, and replace filters as needed.
• Replace faulty parts, wires, motors, controls, and circuit boards.
• Disassemble equipment to access and replace defective parts.
• Lubricate and clean parts and equipment for proper operation.
• Operate hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, and replace parts.
• Review blueprints, schematics, manuals, and parts catalogs.
• Run production machines to understand capabilities and troubleshoot.
