Job summary

Royston Plant is seeking a Maintenance Tech for 1st shift in a manufacturing environment in Jasper, GA. You will repair and maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventive maintenance across facilities.

The role requires reading blueprints, PLC knowledge, and strong mechanical/electrical skills. Candidates should be able to work overtime and collaborate cross-functionally to keep the production schedule on track.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support Lean initiatives (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, ACPs).
• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair fabrication equipment.
• Maintain production rate and meet production schedule with effective cross-department communication.
• Cross-train other employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Position Summary (major areas of contribution):

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of various equipment and systems within the manufacturing facility, including troubleshooting issues, conducting inspections, performing repairs and carrying out preventive maintenance tasks.

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

• Must understand and follow all safety requirements for operating equipment
• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance, as required, on shop equipment, and the facilities if needed, with minimal supervision
• Design and trouble shoot PLC program logic for machine control functions
• Fabricate and/or repair electrical/ electronic equipment from drawings
• Support Lean Initiatives through 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, ACP’s, etc.
• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair the fabrication equipment
• Perform any duties assigned to keep production rate and meet production schedule
• Ensure timely and effective communication and coordination with all other departments within the company and its divisions
• Must be willing to cross-train other employees
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications / Skills:

• High school or equivalent required; AS degree or advanced technical training/certifications required
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings required
• Knowledge of:
• Electrical systems required
• Electronic troubleshooting required
• Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) required
• Mechanical repairs required
• Millwright
• Hydraulic systems required
• Pneumatic systems required
• Bench tools
• Possess and demonstrate independent motivation to accomplish assigned tasks

• Previous experience working with Advanced Maintenance Management System “AMMS” preferred not required
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
