Leggettlogistics in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, and physical structures. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, with at least 3 years of related experience. The role requires the ability to operate various tools and machinery, including forklifts. You will work in a loud environment and be expected to lift heavy objects.
The ideal candidate will also have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work at heights when necessary. Training opportunities may be available for those looking to gain additional certifications.
2pm - 12am, Monday through Thursday, with Friday for as‑needed overtime.
Repairs tools and fixtures as required. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Consideration will be given to applicants with an Industrial Maintenance Certificate, journeyman certificate, or equivalent.
Ability to read and analyze professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to use basic geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Work is performed near moving mechanical parts. Noise level is usually loud.
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include color vision and depth perception.
