We are looking for an individual to work as a Maintenance Technician in our convenience store locations. The building maintenance trade is an exciting and rewarding career. Our Maintenance Techs will help preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. After proper training, you will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as electrical, plumbing, small appliances, HVAC, carpentry, painting, etc.

Purpose of the Role

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various components of facilities, devices, appliances, and equipment used in retail stores, rental properties, offices, and petroleum storage and dispensing operations. This Technician position will respond to troubleshoot equipment and facility problems and issues, diagnose problems, acquire parts, and repair as needed. This position will perform preventive maintenance and repairs to keep retail stores operating at a high capacity, as well as other facilities and equipment essential to the company’s success.

Essential Duties

• Work safely and maintain company equipment in good serviceable condition
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs, maintenance, and system operation clearly.
• Present a professional, tidy appearance, including your company truck, equipment, and uniform.
• Install, maintain, and repair critical systems, including all store and office facility critical systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and basic wiring schematics.
• Calibrate and assess all mechanical systems for proper operation.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, including assigned company vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management, which may not be specifically listed in this job description but are within the scope of the position, and within the ability of the technician.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is preferred.
• Basic mechanical training, work experience or documented apprenticeship preferred.
• Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer’s weight capacity.
• Lift and carry up to 50lbs, occasionally heavier weight may be necessary for short duration as needed.
• Safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, roof tops, etc. including the ability to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Willing to work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Residential or commercial building trade skills are a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to communicate clearly written and oral, basic computer skills required, safe driving record and valid driver’s license required.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing system interaction.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
