Job summary

Randstad USA in Rutherfordton, NC, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep die-casting and automation equipment running at peak performance on second shift.

You will troubleshoot hydraulics, electrical systems, and robotics, performing preventative maintenance and rapid repairs in a heavy manufacturing environment.

The role requires HS diploma and about 1 year of maintenance experience; salary range $50,000-$60,000; benefits and Randstad package.

Responsibilities

• Equipment & Systems Maintenance
• Die Casting & Automation Support: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-pressure aluminum die casting machines, auto-ladles, reciprocators, and integrated robotic automation cells.
• Mechanical & Hydraulic Repairs: Repair pumps, valves, cylinders; route hydraulic hoses, pipes, fittings; manage accumulator pre-charging and pressure settings.
• Electrical Troubleshooting: Install, replace, and troubleshoot motor controls, contractors, overloads, relays, and limit switches.
• Tooling & Controls: Understand die tooling micro-switches; isolate and wire control devices; troubleshoot logic issues.
• Furnace Operations: Support melting/holding furnaces and replace thermocouples.
• Facility & Utilities: Preventative maintenance on pumps, HVAC, wastewater systems, and plumbing.

Responsibilities

Equipment & Systems Maintenance

• Die Casting & Automation Support: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-pressure aluminum die casting machines, auto-ladles, reciprocators, and integrated robotic automation cells.
• Mechanical & Hydraulic Repairs: Perform advanced hydraulic repairs on pumps, valves, and cylinders. Inspect, build, and route hydraulic hoses, pipes, tubing, and fittings. Manage accumulator pre-charging, bleeding, and setting pressure/relief valves.
• Electrical Troubleshooting: Install, replace, and troubleshoot motor controls, contractors, overloads, relays, and limit switches. Install conduit (up to 2” EMT and Rigid) and hardwire field machinery components.
• Tooling & Controls: Understand the functionality of die tooling micro-switches; isolate and wire control devices, and troubleshoot logic issues.
• Furnace Operations: Provide mechanical/structural support for melting and holding furnaces, including the fabrication and replacement of thermocouples.
• Facility & Auxiliary Utilities: Perform routine preventative maintenance and emergency fixes on facility infrastructure, including industrial pumps, air compressors, HVAC units, wastewater processing equipment, and general plumbing.

Essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
