Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright

Millwright - minimum of 6 months documented field experience in chosen craft discipline. Must have the ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation. Responsibilities and requirements vary depending on experience and assignment. Helpers primarily assist in these activities.

Location: Peoria, IL

Salary: $22-$24 per hour

Millwright Responsibilities

1. Read and interpret blueprints, layout plans, vendor manuals, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
2. Dismantle machines using hand tools.
3. Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
4. Assemble and install equipment, such as shaffing, conveyors, and tram rails, using cranes and hand/power tools.
5. Construct foundations for machines using hand tools and materials like wood, cement, and steel.
6. Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, and measuring tools; knowledge of optical and laser alignments is required.
7. Assemble machines, bolt, weld, rivet, or fasten to foundations or structures.
8. Operate engine lathe for grinding, filing, and turning machine parts.
9. Install and modify robot programs using teach pendant.
10. Use transit and level for equipment setting.
11. Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and supplies.
12. Perform lubrication, cleaning, and repair of tools and machinery.
13. Observe safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Physical Demands

Must regularly talk and hear; frequently sit; handle objects; reach; and occasionally stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl. Must lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with experience in the field. Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Works under supervision, following instructions and guidelines. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
