Maintenance Technician Position
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair processes and associated equipment to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
Responsibilities
- Daily checks on operation and condition of all production equipment to ensure operation readiness
- Analyzes equipment and raw material needs to ensure current and future production
- Plans repair inventory, maintains equipment needs to avoid shortages and excesses
- Controls, maintains, mixes all necessary chemicals, bonding agents, primers, oils and fluids
- Maintains accurate reports, inventory and status reports as needed or requested by management
- Analyzes any delays or interruptions and advises production supervisors/workers to alleviate
- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
- Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.
- Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
- Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
- Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
- Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
Requirements
- 2 years of applicable experience required
- Ability to work as a team as well as being self-directed
- Ability to safely operate all tools
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer and report writing skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment
- Good time‑management skills
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products. Must be able to stand, sit and bend for long periods of time.
Work Environment
Manufacturing environment: loud noise levels, high temperatures, dirt and sand. Required PPE: steel‑toed shoes, safety glasses, dust masks, and/or respirators.
