Job summary

Stef & Philips Limited is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of engineers and handymen, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance work. You will act as the link between frontline engineers, planners and management, driving performance, coaching staff and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities include supervising the team, conducting regular reviews, coordinating coverage, and maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a team of engineers/handymen.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance and repairs operations and quality standards.
• Solid understanding of health & safety legislation and risk assessments.
• Excellent organisation, planning and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Desirable knowledge of fire door inspection and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of engineers and subcontractors.
• Monitor productivity, attendance, performance and conduct.
• Lead regular meetings, toolbox talks and performance reviews.
• Provide coaching and development to engineers.
• Coordinate leave and workforce coverage via HR systems.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across maintenance work.
• Conduct monthly site/workplace inspections for compliance.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure training and equipment readiness for safe duties.
• Monitor risk assessments, permit-to-work and safe systems.
• Investigate accidents and incidents to prevent recurrence.
• Inspect completed works for quality and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain records for inspections, audits and training.
• Support audits and compliance reviews.
• Report monthly to Head of Maintenance.
