As a Maintenance Team Leader, you will hold an important role in the Kings Mountain Operations facility. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and support the long-term success of the Volvo Group and KMO by providing leadership. You will be responsible for safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement, environment, people development, and cost of the maintenance process as well as cascading and involving your team members in the business objectives.

Main activities and responsibilities for these roles:

  2. Support reactive maintenance activities handed down from previous production shifts, working with your team to correct issues primarily on MIG and resistance spot welding equipment, robotics, and hydraulics.
  3. Complete standard shift reports daily and coach the maintenance team on completion of data capture for equipment breakdown events.
  4. Lead your Maintenance team against set safety, quality, delivery, and financial targets by leading and coaching your maintenance team.
  5. Continue the implementation of Volvo Production System (VPS), which means to implement standardized ways of working, develop the organization, and achieve contribution from all employees.
  6. Full accountability and ownership of your team’s development, employee relations, project follow-up, midterm roadmap (0-1 year), and policy deployment from plant to operator level.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Safety:
Ensure a safe work environment and behaviors for all team members using a methodical approach to risk identification, mitigation, and competence development.

Ensure that the maintenance area objective(s) is clearly formulated and motivated to achieve the Kings Mountain Operations business objectives and strategy. Build autonomous teams, work with cross-functional networks, and create trusting relationships.

Communication:
Inspire and influence through a communicative leadership style with your team and cross-functional groups, ensuring all employees are aware of their responsibilities and contributions to the total result.

Behavior:
Demonstrate and coach to Volvo’s Values (Customer Success, Trust, Passion, Change, Performance) and Code of Conduct.

People Development:
Develop the industrial workforce to secure competence. Assess performance, competencies, and flexibility of employees within the department and initiate appropriate training, counseling, or corrective action to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Education and Experience:
Five (5) years minimum combined maintenance leadership and technical experience within a manufacturing environment.
