Are you an experienced clinical laboratory professional looking for a leadership opportunity? Are you detail-oriented, process-focused, and enjoy leading others? Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Team Leader to join our team at Tryon Medical Partners Central Laboratory, located in Charlotte, NC. In this position, you will work in a fast-paced, customer-focused, and challenging environment, contributing to our mission: “Improving Health, Improving Lives”.

Work Schedule: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 11:30am-8:00pm. Position is eligible for an 8% shift differential due to 2nd shift hours.

Benefits: Employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the supervisor with daily operations of the department/lab.
  2. Send production reports to management regularly.
  3. Assist with training new hires and developing current employees.
  4. Keep the supervisor informed of group progress, issues, and employee performance.
  5. Determine specimen acceptability for testing based on established criteria.
  6. Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
  7. Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
  8. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  9. Report accurate and timely test results.
  10. Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  11. Replenish testing supplies as needed.
  12. Assist with specimen processing when necessary.
  13. Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements.
  2. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Technologist.
  3. Experience with high complexity testing including Chemistry, Hematology, and Urinalysis.
  4. Manual differential and urine microscopy experience.
  5. ASCP and/or AMT certifications are advantageous.
  6. State licensing if applicable.
  7. Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
  8. Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures.
  9. Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
  10. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  11. High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  12. Ability to adapt decision-making in a changing environment.
  13. Physical ability to perform job duties.
