Responsible for supervision and training of all maintenance personnel, taking direction from the Maintenance Manager. This role involves developing and delivering training programs to ensure maintenance staff possess the skills and knowledge needed for efficient and reliable operations. The supervisor directs technicians for assigned duties and oversees daily activities to meet plant efficiency standards, adhering to schedules, priorities, and processing specifications. Additionally, this role manages maintenance training and development, ensures the operation of safe and functional equipment, evaluates performance, and leads, coaches, and trains personnel to adhere to work standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Coaching and Training: Acts as a coach by training, mentoring, scheduling, counseling, and guiding maintenance employees. Provides leadership through effective communication, supports training for new and current employees, and ensures mechanical competencies are demonstrated. Conducts hands-on training sessions, assesses training effectiveness, identifies training needs, and fosters a positive work environment aligned with company values. Motivates and corrects personnel positively, handles employee concerns, and ensures policy compliance. Supports troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and software systems, and leads preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Maintenance Management: Manages duties related to installing and maintaining production machinery and plant equipment. Oversees daily setup, breakdown, installation, troubleshooting, and repairs. Supervises external contractors, understands necessary tools, determines maintenance needs, and communicates issues promptly. Leads planning and execution of maintenance programs and equipment installations.
- Recordkeeping: Maintains accurate records of work performed, updates logs, completes paperwork, and manages equipment used for maintenance and repairs.
- Compliance and Additional Duties: Ensures adherence to GMP policies, safety rules, and company policies. May work additional hours and assume other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, PLC, and industrial maintenance skills
- AAS degree in relevant field preferred
- Proficient in MS Office
- Organized with attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, adaptability, dependability
- Excellent communication skills and leadership ability
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing
- Ability to hear normal conversations and receive information
- Frequent use of wrists, hands, fingers
- Visual acuity including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustment
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally
