Job summary

The Alden Network is seeking a Maintenance Director for its long-term care facility in Illinois. You will direct and coordinate the maintenance department, ensure safety compliance, manage preventive maintenance, and oversee repairs and renovations to keep the building in safe, comfortable condition.

This role requires knowledge of facility safety, maintenance budgeting, and working with contractors. You will train staff, conduct inspections, plan schedules, and report to the Environmental

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• Knowledge and experience in all phases of building maintenance.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, facility safety, equipment maintenance, and training.
• Experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs.
• Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the long-term care industry.

Responsibilities

• Facility Safety - Develops high safety standards and ensures compliance with laws and facility policies.
• Arranges and coordinates fire safety inspections with follow-up on deficiencies.
• Arranges, coordinates, and schedules internal safety inspections and determines corrective actions.
• Schedules, coordinates, conducts, and manages the facility’s safety committee.
• Facility maintenance - Maintains the facility and grounds per policy and regulations.
• Coordinates, supervises, and completes corrective and preventative maintenance.
• Plans continual work schedules to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program.
• Evaluates long term needs for major projects and improvements.
• Facility Equipment Maintenance - Maintains major equipment and furnishings, arranges replacements.
• Develops and reviews equipment records.
• Establishes procedures to ensure timely repairs of equipment.
• Recommends purchases for replacements or new equipment.
• Performs minor repairs/installations within time and skill boundaries.
• Facility Safety and Maintenance Training - Provides training for personnel and residents.
• Attends Department Head meetings and Corporate Building Manager Meetings.
• Reports to Environmental Services Coordinator when projects extend beyond expected time.
• Plans and oversees Alden Bennett Construction employees and outside contractors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
