Job summary

Longterm Health Management Services is seeking a dependable, hands-on Director of Maintenance for our Assisted Living Facility in Dolton, IL. You will oversee daily maintenance to keep resident areas safe, functional, and well-kept.

Responsibilities include general upkeep, plumbing basics, fixtures, preventative maintenance, coordination with vendors, and maintaining records. Leadership path may evolve to manage the Maintenance Department for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, handyman work, or facilities maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with good communication skills.
• Able to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and respond to urgent issues.
• Takes pride in quality workmanship and completing jobs correctly.

Responsibilities

• Perform general handyman and building maintenance duties throughout the facility.
• Patch, repair, and paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs and address minor plumbing issues.
• Replace and repair fixtures, hardware, lighting, and other components.
• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and determine repairs or when outside vendors are needed.
• Maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces.
• Assist with furniture, doors, cabinets, appliances, and other repairs.
• Perform routine inspections and identify maintenance needs before problems occur.
• Maintain tools, supplies, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe manner.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent facility needs.
• Follow safety procedures and facility policies.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, professional environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
