Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to manage and perform routine and scheduled upkeep across a large community. You will diagnose defects, repair systems, and ensure common areas and units meet Greystar standards.

The role requires EPA HVAC certifications where applicable, tool proficiency, and strong customer service with residents and teammates. This role involves a Monday–Friday schedule with on-call rotation, inventory management, and collaboration with the Community Manager on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and related experience.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools where permitted by law; safe use of tools required.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents and team.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and basic databases.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee maintenance and cosmetic work to meet standards.
• Assist and complete work orders from resident requests; diagnose and repair issues.
• Manage make-ready process for vacant units; schedule vendors and inspect work.
• Inspect grounds, exterior, interiors, and common areas for quality and safety.
• Maintain inventory of parts; coordinate with Community Manager on supplies within budget.
• Conduct monthly preventive maintenance and participate in budget planning.
• Support cost-control efforts by using parts wisely and following safety rules.
