Job summary

Greystar Worldwide, LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor in San Diego, CA to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work ensuring indoor and exterior buildings, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

The role requires 5+ years of maintenance supervision experience, EPA/CPO certifications preferred, and experience with GE/Whirlpool appliances and plumbing for mid-rise buildings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Own hand tools unless prohibited by State law; safe use familiarization.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication to interact with residents and team members.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively for internal and external interactions.
• Proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management; property management system experience preferred.
• Mathematical skills for financial, administrative, and legal documents.
• EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal.
• Certifications as required by State and Local jurisdictions.
• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on property.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair defects from resident service orders and routine upkeep per policies and safety standards.
• Oversee make-ready process for vacant units, schedule vendors, and inspect completed work.
• Set standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, amenities, and common areas to reflect Greystar quality.
• Inspect work by staff and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and coordinate supplies within budget.
• Complete monthly preventative maintenance per Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Assist Community Manager with budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Support cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing where possible.
• Lead safety meetings and stay compliant with OSHA and safety laws.
• Provide responsive customer service to residents and team members.
