Job summary

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC in Huntington, IN is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Maintenance department and drive uptime, safety, and continuous improvement. You will coordinate a team of technicians, manage maintenance schedules, and ensure proper training.

The role requires 5+ years in maintenance within heavy manufacturing, at least 2 years in supervision, and strong knowledge of machinery including CNCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a maintenance role in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role managing a team of maintenance technicians.
• Strong knowledge of machinery, equipment, and systems in a manufacturing setting (e.g., CNC machines, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise maintenance team: oversee and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
• Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and maximize production efficiency.
• Ensure that team members are properly trained on equipment, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices.
• Drive and implement the MOS maintenance program to reduce the risk of equipment failures.
• Supervise corrective maintenance activities, troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/hydraulic issues, and provide technical support.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and downtime for continuous improvement.
• Drive PM compliance and 5S programs.
• Evaluate departmental constraints and implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve capacities.
• Monitor condition of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and extend asset lifespan.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including environmental and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal production impact.
• Communicate with other departments to coordinate maintenance priorities.
• Report on maintenance performance and issues to upper management.
• Champion change and improve team functions to boost business performance.
• Ensure compliance with plant policies and TS16949/ISO14001 requirements.
