Job summary

POAH Communities is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for The Ave in Chicago's Humboldt Park area. You will lead day-to-day operations, oversee staff, repair and maintain building systems, and ensure compliance with HUD and housing regulations.

This role requires 3–5 years in property management or construction, experience with trades, and proficiency in Yardi, Excel, Outlook, and mobile tech. Travel and a valid driver's license may be required; the position offers a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of direct experience in property management or related fields (construction and renovation).
• Some post-high-school education, apprenticeship, or supervised technical training preferred.
• Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs for multifamily communities.

Responsibilities

• Support the Property Manager by repairing and maintaining the physical conditions to meet building codes and HUD standards.
• Ensure work orders are managed through Yardi and completed within 24 hours of submission.
• Maintain safety health measures to protect residents and staff and preserve assets.
• Manage resident relations and inquiries with professionalism.
• Build collaborations with Regional Property Supervisor, colleagues, Maintenance Technicians and vendors.
