Job summary

The State of North Carolina, Department of Adult Correction, is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician IV (S) to support statewide plant operations and keep production running smoothly. You will handle maintenance of manufacturing equipment, operate power tools and rolling equipment, and may supervise staff or offenders.

Shift is Monday–Thursday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of journey-level mechanical/building trades experience, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years of journey-level mechanical/building trades experience.
• EPA certification may be required (Type I, II, III or Universal).
• Experience with forklift operation and reading drawings/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Support basic operational functions for Correction Enterprises plants statewide.
• Resolve equipment/facility problems to minimize downtime.
• Possibly supervise staff or offenders while performing duties.
• Operate power and hand tools and rolling equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts).
