Job summary

Hormel Foods in Montevideo, MN is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of 2–20 hourly staff, apply engineering practices for safety and reliability, and drive improvements in plant operations. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical skills, and the ability to relocate to a different shift every 12–18 months.

You will work 1st shift, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with every 3rd weekend.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance supervisory experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Willing to move to another shift every 12–18 months.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages 2–20 hourly maintenance staff.
• Assigns daily work and prioritizes tasks to meet plant metrics.
• Spend 50%+ time in manufacturing area with staff.
• Oversees payroll approvals, time off requests, and reports.
• Manage contractor and OEM support within department and plant.
• Ensure maintenance budget compliance (labor, parts, supplies).
• Identify and implement improvements to plant operations and equipment reliability.
