Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for 1st & 2nd shifts in Denison, IA.

You will lead maintenance teams responsible for installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of critical equipment across the plant, facilities, and utilities to keep production lines running at peak efficiency. The role requires a BS in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and TPM practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Lead training/coaching of staff and mentoring when needed.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in process issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends.
• Advanced technical knowledge in ammonia refrigeration, high‑pressure boilers, and related fields.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
• Supervise maintenance systems, processes, and documentation for high performance.
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling with Production to address equipment and facility repairs.
• Develop and implement maintenance systems: PM/TPM/SOPs/Safety, etc.
• Provide long-term solutions and day-to-day support for troubleshooting and failures.
• Develop and monitor KPIs for maintenance performance and provide status reports.
• Ensure maintenance tasks comply with USDA regulations and maintain records and inventory.
• Foster a positive employee experience through leadership, development, and coaching.
