Job summary

Markent Personnel is seeking an Assistant Plant Engineer for the 1st shift in Denison, Iowa. You’ll oversee maintenance and engineering operations to keep plants running at peak efficiency and minimize downtime.

Reporting to the Plant Engineer, you will lead the Maintenance Department, drive TPM, preventive/predictive maintenance, and safety initiatives, and manage capital projects while meeting budget and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, plus 5+ years in manufacturing.
• 2+ years in a leadership role.
• PLC and ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Food manufacturing background preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital project development and post-approval management.
• Collaborate with Plant Engineer on scheduling and execution.
• Lead Maintenance Department with TPM, preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Optimize resources to maximize output and minimize downtime.
• Lead maintenance team and enforce policies.
• Champion plant safety through training and monitoring.
• Develop and track KPIs including OEE and supplier performance.
• Foster positive employee development and coaching.
