Job summary

Randstad USA seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance crew at our Islip-area facility in New York. You will oversee preventive maintenance programs, direct repairs, and drive continuous improvements to maximize equipment reliability.

We require 3 years of maintenance supervision experience, an associate degree, and proficiency with CMMS and MS Office. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential; English/Spanish bilinguals are a plus.

Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance crew, oversee PM schedules, and maximize plant reliability. Serving as the bridge between technical staff and management, you will enforce safety standards, direct repairs, and drive continuous equipment improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Direct maintenance technicians in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and utility systems.
• PM & Reliability: Oversee preventive maintenance programs, track downtime, and optimize repair methods to prevent production loss.
• Daily Operations: Manage work requests, assist in machinery troubleshooting, and schedule shift coverage.
• Inventory & Purchasing: Requisition spare parts, manage logs, and stay within budget guidelines.
• Compliance & Safety: Enforce safety policies, SOPs, and SDS compliance across all maintenance activities.
• Vendor Coordination: Communicate with external contractors, suppliers, and consultants.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Background in industrial machinery maintenance, computer literacy, and proficiency in MS Office and CMMS systems.
• Organization & Communication: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly across all company levels.
• Preferences: (English/Spanish) and flexible schedule availability are highly desirable.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

salary: $90,000 - $95,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Directs maintenance personnel to ensure that all systems operate at their highest capability to meet required production schedules, quality, costs and schedule priorities
• Improves reliability, maintenance, and processing methods to reduce cost and avoid loss of production because of equipment malfunction or failure time.
• Determines equipment capabilities, safety, and operational condition in coordination with the other Supervisors and technicians.
• Develop preventative maintenance procedures that are cost effective and increase the operational life of the equipment.
• Seek and implement continuous improvement of the process through equipment improvement modifications.Assist in the development of the system and operational standards and corrective actions.
