Job summary

Precision Castparts seeks a Maintenance Supervisor for an off-shift at our Ohio plant. You will lead the maintenance program, manage technicians, scheduling, training, and performance reviews to keep equipment running and PMs current.

The role requires 5+ years leadership in manufacturing and deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, with a strong commitment to safety and cost control.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • 2 years leadership experience in maintenance.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience leading people and obtaining results through others, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule employees to meet production needs and manage vacations.
  • Provide shift-to-shift communication to keep team aligned on goals.
  • Coach employees to achieve equipment uptime and PM goals.
  • Monitor safety regulations and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain 6S standards and housekeeping in the department.
  • Maintain knowledge of all production processes and materials.
  • Collaborate with team to resolve technical and personnel issues.
  • Troubleshoot and provide cost-effective resolutions to production problems.
  • Maintain minimum inventory of critical spare parts for all equipment.
  • Manage repairs budgeting and operate within the budget.
  • Conduct performance reviews, discipline, and coaching of direct reports.
  • Handle hazardous waste in accordance with company policy.

This includes responsibility for identifying parts and critical spares for the plant and maintaining all equipment in a safe working condition. The maintenance supervisor will manage all the technicians including scheduling, assigning daily task/work orders, training, on-boarding, hiring, and performance evaluations. Finally, the supervisor will need to collaboration with the department managers to ensure equipment is running and PMs are current to meet production requirements.

Maintenance Supervisor: Off-Shift
Position Summary

Finally, the supervisor will need to collaboration with the department managers to ensure equipment is running and PMs are current to meet production requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Schedule employees to effectively meet production needs and ensure vacation is consistent with plant policies.
  • Provide the shift-to-shift communication link to keep all team members working toward the same goals.
  • Provide effective supervision and coaching to employees to achieve the required equipment uptime and PM goals.
  • Monitor company programs to ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure that the high standard of 6s and housekeeping is maintained in the department at all times.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and materials.
  • Work with employees to resolve technical and personnel problems.
  • Troubleshoot and provide cost effective resolutions to production problems.
  • Maintain a minimum inventory of critical spare parts for all plant equipment.
  • Cost responsibilities pertaining to repairs and other maintenance budgeting issues. Operate within the budget.
  • Responsible for performance reviews, discipline, and coaching/counseling of direct records.
  • Manage handle hazardous waste in accordance with company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Able to meet deadlines and be accountable as it relates to PM and equipment uptime.
  • Able to work flexible hours, off-shifts holidays, and weekends as needed to support production.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work independently.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere with a customer focus approach to support Operations and safety.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Experience & Education
  • 5+ years leadership experience in manufacturing
  • 2 years leadership experience in maintenance
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, computer driven, pneumatic and hydraulic manufacturing systems.
  • Experience leading people and obtaining results through others, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
