Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Park Manager with overall maintenance activities at Pine Island State Park, including grounds and facilities upkeep, and supervising staff.
• Coordinate short-term and long-term park maintenance planning and execution, including daily scheduling and specialized projects.
• Oversee cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness of park grounds and facilities.
• Handle park operation tasks such as reporting, ordering supplies, and inventory management.
• Perform repairs on motorized equipment and tools used in park maintenance.
• Engage in public relations activities.
• Supervise staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Promote teamwork within the agency and represent the office on various teams.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and three years of grounds and building maintenance experience.
• Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting, work on uneven terrain, and work at heights, with exposure to weather and chemicals.
• Competency in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry trades; ability to read blueprints and write specifications.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Additional Comments

Location: Pine Island State Park. Full-time, 40 hours/week, including weekends and holidays.
