Hartung Glass Industries is seeking a proactive, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the upkeep and operational excellence of our Phoenix, AZ glass fabrication facility. If you're someone who enjoys diagnosing, repairing, and improving complex mechanical systems—and you're ready to manage and motivate a team while staying close to the equipment—this role is for you. This position offers the perfect mix of strategic planning, hands-on technical expertise, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of plant and facility maintenance, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency.
- Manage, train, and develop maintenance staff to meet operational and safety goals.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs for all systems and machinery.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex equipment issues including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation and contribute to operational reviews and strategic planning.
- Ensure readiness for emergency repairs and provide technical guidance when breakdowns occur.
- Willingness to manage tasks to completion; may include overtime as needed.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with OSHA, and environmental safety standards.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with production and leadership teams to reduce downtime.
- Source and manage relationships with vendors for equipment, parts, and service contracts.
Requirements
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
- Proficient in electrical systems, PLCs, co-processors, and smart relay systems.
- Experienced in HVAC, CNC machinery, welding, plumbing, and fluid systems.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations, hazardous waste handling, and environmental compliance.
- Computer literacy with CMMS systems and basic office software.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage spare parts inventory and vendor relationships.
- Capacity to lift 50 lbs. and work in physically demanding environments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical training in mechanical or electrical systems preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of consistent experience in a maintenance leadership role, preferably in manufacturing.
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage day-to-day maintenance operations.
- CNC machine maintenance experience highly preferred (CNC Glass fabrication a plus).
- Prior experience in the glass industry is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
