Job summary

Optimal Solution Company in Livonia, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead safety culture and implement workplace policies. You will coach skilled trades and maintenance staff in asset management, MTTR/MTBF, PM, and condition-based monitoring to reduce interruptions in production.

The role requires strong communication with hourly teams, union, and management, plus experience in supervising unionized workforces and PLC-based controls. Full-time onsite position with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of supervisory manufacturing experience.
• Experience managing a unionized workforce.
• Fundamental PLC logic and controls knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Create a safety culture and apply workplace policies.
• Lead/coach maintenance teams in asset management including MTTR/MTBF, cycle time, PM, predictive/condition-based monitoring.
• Leverage machine monitoring tools to reduce interruptions in production flow.

Job description

Position Description:

Create a safety culture and apply and implement workplace policies. Lead/ coach skilled trades/maintenance personnel in all aspects of asset management including but not limited to: asset availability (mean time to repair, mean time between failure), cycle time, preventative maintenance, predictive and condition-based monitoring technologies. Lead/coach teams in leveraging new and existing machine monitoring tools to identify constraints in the system and systematically reduce and eliminate interruptions in production flow. Build strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members, union, and management teams. Communicate effectively with hourly team members, leaders, business partners and customers. Administer the CBA (collective bargaining agreement) consistently and effectively. Evaluate team member performance and encourage continuous improvement.

Experience Required:

• Working knowledge in Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Ability to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights and weekends
• Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls
• Mechanical aptitude Required Behaviors
