Job summary

National Food & Beverage Incorporated is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting. You will support production uptime, troubleshoot complex equipment, mentor technicians, and drive continuous improvement under the Plant Manager’s guidance.

The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical system expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in industrial maintenance in food/beverage manufacturing.
  • Leadership experience as a supervisor or lead.
  • Current electrical license or certification required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Proven hands-on troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance orders.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities; provide hands-on direction to staff.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Schedule and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance to support equipment reliability.
  • Manage work orders, documents, parts used, and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate maintenance with Production, QA, Sanitation, and other departments to minimize disruption.
  • Maintain safety compliance (LOTO, PPE, GMP) and proper tool/part control.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor leads daily maintenance operations within a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment and requires a strong background in industrial electrical systems, automation, and equipment reliability. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this hands‑on leadership role is responsible for supporting production uptime, troubleshooting complex equipment, mentoring maintenance technicians, improving preventive maintenance programs, and driving continuous improvement throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate brings prior food or beverage manufacturing experience, strong technical troubleshooting capabilities, and a high level of attention to detail. Bilingual Spanish and the ability to communicate effectively in English are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities, assign work priorities, and provide hands‑on technical direction and support to maintenance personnel.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions; troubleshoot, diagnose, and support timely repairs involving industrial mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including motors, controls, sensors, VFDs, and other production equipment.
  • Schedule, assign, monitor, and verify preventive and corrective maintenance work to support equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Manage work orders and maintenance records, documenting equipment issues, repairs completed, parts used, and required follow‑up.
  • Monitor recurring equipment issues and communicate significant failures, risks, repair needs, and operational concerns to the Plant Manager.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Warehouse, and other departments to minimize operational disruption.
  • Maintain compliance with LOTO, PPE, GMP, food safety, and applicable safety requirements during maintenance activities.
  • Maintain control and accountability of tools, parts, lubricants, chemicals, temporary repairs, and maintenance materials used in production areas to reduce contamination and foreign material risks.
  • Coordinate onsite vendor and contractor activities as assigned and verify work completion.
  • Monitor spare parts and maintenance supply needs and communicate critical shortages or purchasing needs.
  • Train, coach, and hold maintenance employees accountable for safety, work quality, documentation, responsiveness, and performance expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and audit‑ready maintenance work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Previous maintenance lead, supervisor, or similar leadership experience.
  • Current electrical license or recognized electrical certification required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish and able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in work‑related written communication.
  • Strong hands‑on troubleshooting experience with industrial electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting food processing, production, packaging, or automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, equipment repairs, and maintenance work orders.
  • Working knowledge of LOTO, industrial safety, GMP, and food manufacturing maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize urgent maintenance needs in a fast‑paced production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an SQF‑certified food manufacturing facility.
  • CMMS experience.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with VFDs, sensors, motors, controls, and automated equipment.
  • Technical certification or education in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.

Physical and Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work around production equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to [50] pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, temperature variations, hot, humid and wet or slippery conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE.
  • Must be flexible to support equipment breakdowns, emergency repairs, production start‑ups, and operational needs outside normal working hours when required.
