Job summary

KCO Resource Management is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a major food manufacturer in the Milwaukee area. The role oversees 1st and 2nd shift, leading a team of maintenance professionals in a fast-paced, 24/7 operation to ensure production support and maintenance services are delivered efficiently.

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance and capital projects, managing utilities and equipment, and maintaining safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the site.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ industrial maintenance experience in the Food and/or Beverage manufacturing industry.
  • Previous experience as a supervisor is required.
  • Working knowledge of boilers, refrigeration, Programmable Logic Controls, electrical, cooling towers, and ammonia compressors.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and facility management to improve safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Supervise both the maintenance and capital projects for the site.
  • Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure that all utilities are in proper working order (refrigeration, electrical, steam, compressed air).
  • Implement corrective actions identified by key maintenance performance indicators to improve OEE.
  • Remain current with latest industry regulations and codes related to mechanical/electrical systems design and operation.
  • Ensure corporate policies and standards are followed in capital projects and daily maintenance.
  • Complete paperwork including maintenance records, incident reports, investigations, and others as assigned.
  • Maintain current technical documentation on PLCs, instrumentation, and equipment.
  • Share “best practices” within the Maintenance Department.
  • Monitor and enforce policies with employees, contractors, vendors, and suppliers (safety, food safety, regulatory).
  • Engage in planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating as a manager.
  • Provide management of employees to ensure effective selection, retention, development, and performance management.
  • Evaluate Maintenance personnel skills and assist with training programs for growth.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Maintenance Supervisor (1st & 2nd Shift)

We’re working with a major food manufacturer that’s seeking Maintenance supervisors for their 1st and 2nd shifts. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work in a state‑of‑the‑art facility, contributing to the optimization of a major food production network in North America. This role will lead a team of maintenance professionals in a 24/7 operation, ensuring seamless production support and efficient delivery of maintenance services. Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and facility management to utilize equipment to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.

  • Engage in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating.
  • Provide management of employees directly to ensure effective selection, retention, development, and performance management.
  • Evaluate Maintenance personnel skills and abilities and assist Manager with developing training programs for employees’ growth.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years’ industrial maintenance experience within the Food and/or Beverage manufacturing industry.
  • Previous experience as a supervisor is required.
  • Working knowledge of boilers, refrigeration, Programmable Logic Controls, electrical, cooling towers, and ammonia compressors.
  • Experience working with high‑speed automated packaging equipment and scale systems.
  • Skills required in electronics, instrumentation and electrical systems and troubleshooting, reading electrical schematics and understanding ladder logic.
  • Preventive Maintenance experience utilizing an ERP or computerized maintenance management system.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices in food industry.
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Maintenance Planning software, SAP/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ability to select, lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees.
  • Familiarity with cost containment and budgetary principles
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends in support of plant operations.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Physical lifting ability up to 40‑lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift.
