Job summary

Cacique Foods, LLC. is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance, drive reliability, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance in our Amarillo facility.

The role focuses on managing mechanical/electrical systems, preventive maintenance, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with production and quality teams to minimize downtime and improve energy efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering or related field, with 10 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical or advanced technology certifications a plus.
  • Food production experience required.
  • Waste treatment knowledge and experience required.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems, gas systems, liquid propane, boilers, refrigeration, and air systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

  • Develops communicates and fosters group and individual performance plans in alignment with Company culture, goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance, and team leadership within a regulated food production organization.
  • Promotes safety awareness and ensures OSHA and other safety regulations are followed daily.
  • Ensures procedures with controlled documents and updates as needed; trains departments on changes.
  • Manages talent selection, onboarding, assimilation, and performance management of team members.
  • Maintains facility maintenance with a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provides planning to ensure reliability of the plant via predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Works to prevent/eliminate hazards that cause injury or illness.
  • Maintains compliance with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP).
  • Manages maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor relationships.
  • Ensures all equipment operates efficiently and safely (pasteurizers, vats, packaging machines, refrigeration).
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with production and quality teams to minimize downtime.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives in equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned by management.

SUMMARY: The Maintenance Manager will oversee all maintenance operations within our food manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all plant equipment and infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops communicates and fosters group and individual performance plans in alignment with Company culture, goals and objectives
  • Responsible for mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance, and team leadership within a regulated food production organization
  • Responsible for promoting safety awareness and keeping safety as a number one priority daily Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Ensure the team follows the procedures with controlled documents, initiating change as needed for currency and relevancy, training respective departments on document changes.
  • Responsible for talent selection, onboarding, assimilation, and performance management of team members
  • Ensure effective and efficient maintenance of the facility with a culture of continuous improvement
  • Provide necessary planning to ensure the reliability of the plant and associated systems by use of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Actively work to prevent/eliminate hazards that cause injury or illness.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP).

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Required to maneuver plant and warehouse workspaces which involve:
  • Continually standing, walking, sitting, talking, or hearing,work around loud machinery and moving parts, utilize hand and finger dexterity, exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet, and/or humid conditions (non-weather), to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel.
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently push, pull, and lift up to fifty pounds safely.
