Job description

Role Overview:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance operations while ensuring maximum equipment reliability, facility performance, and operational efficiency. This role oversees preventive maintenance programs, equipment repairs, capital projects, CMMS administration, and the daily supervision of the maintenance team to minimize downtime and support production goals.

This is a highly hands-on leadership role requiring a proactive professional with strong mechanical expertise and the confidence to make independent decisions regarding equipment troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance priorities, and operational improvements. The ideal candidate is self-directed, requires minimal supervision, and leads by example while maintaining a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

Overtime required; must be available to cover other shifts and weekends as operational needs require.

Job Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience leading maintenance teams.
  • Food or bakery manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing preventive maintenance programs, CMMS systems, work orders, and maintenance planning.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to repair, maintain, and evaluate productionand warehouse equipment.
  • Experience with welding, hand tools, power tools, and general fabrication techniques.
  • Experience maintaining forklifts, material handling equipment, and other manufacturing assets preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize maintenance activities, and make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual English/Spanishpreferred.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using CMMS or maintenance management software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and movement throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, humidity, noise, and moving machinery.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Comfortable working around food products, including facilities that process peanuts and tree nuts.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Maintenance Operations: Oversee daily maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support production objectives.
  • Manage Preventive Maintenance: Develop, schedule, and monitor preventive maintenance programs while ensuring timely completion of work orders.
  • Supervise Maintenance Team: Recruit, train, coach, develop, and evaluate maintenance personnel while promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Provide Hands-On Technical Support: Troubleshoot complex equipment issues, support mechanics, and make independent maintenance decisions to keep production running efficiently.
  • Administer CMMS: Manage maintenance records, approve preventive maintenance tasks, work orders, and ensure accurate system documentation.
  • Manage Inventory & Vendors: Maintain maintenance inventory, coordinate parts purchasing, and work with outside vendors to support equipment repairs and projects.
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance: Maintain compliance with company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and maintenance procedures while promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Support Facility Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of production equipment, warehouse equipment, and building systems to ensure operational readiness.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance processes, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Support Production Operations: Provide maintenance coverage during overtime, off-shifts, and weekends as operational needs require.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
