Care Initiatives is hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for Centerville Specialty Care in Centerville, IA. The role is full-time and focuses on hands-on maintenance, preventive maintenance planning, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

You will oversee equipment and building systems, coordinate with housekeeping for heavy cleaning tasks, manage inventory, and support outdoor maintenance and landscaping efforts within a compliant, resident-focused community.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in a care or similar setting.
• Ability to develop and implement preventive maintenance.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Supervisor

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all maintenance tasks as needed, according to skills/abilities and consistent with regulations and facility policy.
• Monitor operation and condition of equipment and systems are monitored routinely, and preventive/corrective maintenance is done in a timely manner to minimize disruption to a safe, comfortable environment.
• Assist in monitoring operation of general systems such as heating/cooling; report problems or malfunctions immediately.
• Assist housekeeping staff with heavy floor care (strip/wax/buff) and other heavy cleaning, trash collection, and/or removal.
• Assure appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and supplies are available for performance of maintenance duties; establish and maintain inventory and records of purchase.
• Maintain outside walkways in a safe condition for use, i.e., assure prompt snow/ice removal.
• Maintain lawn and landscaping.
• Assure facility or equipment modifications, preventive maintenance, or repairs are done in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, regulations, and laws.
• Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS).
• Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
• Assist in inspections, fire and disaster drills, and training; report outcome according to established procedure.
• Use equipment, tools, supplies, and chemicals according to instructions, observing safety precautions and protective measures.

• Provide general upkeep and implement a preventative maintenance program.
• Proficiency with tools and equipment for basic repair work.
